HOPE NETWORK ONE IN FIVE MARATHON RELAY
June 8, 2018 | Millennium Park | Grand Rapids MI
This year, we'll be running at twilight,
supporting mental health with every step and stride.
RUN. WALK. SAVE LIVES.
LEARN WHY and HOW.
Untreated mental illness is the most underrated health and social epidemic worldwide - and the numbers prove it. One in five adults will face a mental illness this year. Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among youth ages 10-24. Nearly 60% of mental illness goes untreated.
The solution? Early intervention - because the best way to solve a problem is to prevent it from happening. That's what we're supporting with every stride.
Lace up, because people's lives depend on it.
New in 2018, registration is $25 per person (Community Walk is free). We ask all event participants to fundraise by setting a minimum individual goal of $100 ($500 per team). Your fundraising efforts will allow Hope Network to develop early intervention initiatives and continue treatment programs for those who battle mental illness.
ONE IN FIVE MARATHON RELAY:
At the relay, teams of five will complete a full marathon. The first four runners will each run a five-mile loop, and the last will represent the one in five by taking on the 6.2-mile loop.
6.2-MILE INDIVIDUAL RACE:
Rather run as an individual? Our Individual Race happens on the 6.2-mile course.
ONE IN FIVE VIRTUAL 5K:
On June 8th, 2018, runners will converge in Grand Rapids, Michigan for our main event—but you can run your own route, in your own area, on your own time. From twilight June 8th to twilight on June 9th, clock your 3.2 miles (with an app like MapMyRun, RunKeeper, Nike+ Running, etc.), then send us your time by 11:59pm on June 9th, 2018.
The simple act of walking can end the stigma, change our community, and save lives. Invite your family, friends and co-workers to join you for our Community Walk.
6.2 MILE ACCESSIBILITY RACE:
Athletes who use a wheelchair or handcyle can register to compete on our 6.2 mile course.
